East Coast Skiing

This winter I had the opportunity to go on two ski trips over here on the east coast. The first was with my friends from work. LERA sponsors an annual ski trip to upstate New York every year, so a group of about 30 of us piled into vans and hit the hill (yes, I can't call them mountains...they just arent!)

Yes, there is the hill.

Anyways, the ski resort wasn't anything amazing, but none the less I had a blast. The conditions were windy and snowy with icy hills, sounds great huh? haha. It was fun though to get back on the board. And I would have to say that me and my friend, Elizabeth, had a blast complaining the whole time! All the locals probably hated us, especially when Elizabeth yelled "This ski lift SUCKS!" right as we got off, in front of dozens of people. Oh well...

Later in the season, we decided to go on another trip, this time to a larger and better east coast resort. 5 of us joined Elizabeth's Alumni Chapter and went to Killington and the resort was HUGE! I still can't call it a mountain, by there were many hills with many good runs on them. And even though the snow wasn't amazing, they took really good care of the runs, so they were manageable. It was a great weekend of skiing and hanging out!

This is the view from near the base of the bunny hill. It was a little overcast the first day...at least below the peak of the hill.

The view from the top, not bad huh?

This run was the worst! Definitely do not attempt moguls on a snowboard, especially if the conditions are a bit icy!

Just beautiful though!

This is the complex that we stayed at.

The second day was amazingly clear! I think I could actually see the Canadian Mountain range!
