Chicago
For a quick weekend trip, on Easter weekend I went to Chicago to visit my friend Aeyoung. Aeyoung had been living in Chicago for about a year and a half. As she was to be soon moving back to Portland in early April, I wanted to make sure I visited her before she left. And I had never been to Chicago before, so it was the perfect opportunity!
Of course the day I had to leave for Chicago...it had to snow. But it made for a beautiful first morning and it turned into beautiful days. So I can't complain.
We started the day by walking around downtown Chicago.
Aeyoung and I reflected in the Bean!

Chicago Reflected in the BeanAfter walking around by ourselves for a bit in the morning, we went on an architectural walking tour of the city. It was the "History of Skyscrapers" tour. So I was pretty excited! Might as well know the history of them if I'm designing them! By the time the tour started, the weather was beautiful in the city! Clear blue skies! Although you did have to beware of ice falling on you from the buildings...yeah, scary!

Wriggly's BuildingAfter walking around in the morning, we went back to Aeyoung's apartment and I took a nap! I was so exhausted from a long week! I was also trying to save up energy for my long run the next day! I was ran my 18 mile run in Chicago the next day along the lake and it was fantastic! It was such a beautiful day and great to see the city and the lake while running!
Later that night Aeyoung and I met up with my friend Lauren and her boyfriend Chris for dinner. I knew Lauren back at OSU. So it was good to catch up with them. After dinner Aeyoung and I went to a play. It was in this great small playhouse off the what seemed to me like the middle of nowhere. But it was great!

After my run, Aeyoung and I decided to wander the neighborhood. She lived in Old Town, so she was surrounded by beautiful old houses! They totally reminded me of Brooklyn! It was great to just be able to walk around and see the city!

Some cool houses!
